What Can I Do To Help This Dog ?

my mother recently bought a month old pitbull puppy for my upcoming 15th birthday
I absolutely ADORE her but we live on the 2nd floor of a house with no living room (safe to say it’s pretty small) and I know Pits are quite the energetic breed.
With that in mind I just tried talking to my uncles to ask what could be done (two uncles) and they started scolding me because I HAD been telling my mom I’d love a dog. They were going on about how pits didn’t need alot of room, just somebody to play with and that I just didn’t want to handle the responsibility.
Well they’re right on one part. I can’t handle it, I’m dealing with f*cking depression and they just expect me to be the only one who cares for her.
my mom spent about 200 on the pup and now I feel absolutely HORRID because she spent so much money

    You can help this dog by getting your mom to return it to the backyard breeder she got it from! You neither deserve nor want a dog and this puppy needs better.
    There couldn’t be a better example than yours to show people who dogs should absolutely NEVER be given as gifts.
    And even more important, all the kids on here who are whining because their parents won’t buy them a dog, need to read this and try and learn something.
    Return this puppy now.

    200 dollars for a pit bull was a waste of money. those dogs are not wroth anything over 50 dollars if even. and the reason is cuz they have a bad reputation.
    if you don’t want the dog tell your mom, to give it back to whomever she got it from. they will give her her money back.
    pit bull are a lot of work and if not properly train can lead to the dogs you see on the news.
    not anyone can just have a pit pull. they need to be with someone who knows the breed and who can train.
    a pit pull can be the best dog if it have the right owner.
    if you live in a apartment that isn’t that big you should have try going for a smaller dog like a yorkie or something.
    but if you want to help this dog just talk to your mom. a pit pull can be very dangerous if the owner does not know what he or she is doing with training wise.

    any adult who buys a dog for their child should not expect the child to take full and complete care of it.
    it is way to much work for a young adult who’s going to school, developing relationships, and dealing with the social problems of high school to read books on understanding how to properly train dogs, have the time and patience of housebreaking, and be able to find the time to walk a dog 1 1/2 hours a day.
    your mom should never have bought you a dog and expected you to do 100% of the work.
    a dog is alot of responsiblity and if you are depresed, chances are those emotions have transfered to your dog and living with that type of strain isn’t good for anyone; be it humane or dog.

    What you will need to do is take your dog for long walks EVERY day. I go to the local Humane Society website and see how many pit bulls there are there. I would guess 75% are pit bulls or pit bull mixtures. Abandoned. So sad.

    just take him for walks. whats so hard about that?? and she is your dog. you have full responsibility for her. you cannot expect ppl to care for something that isnt theirs. dogs are like kids(better and they stay cute unlike kids hahah) they need to be cared for. but for the rest of their lives. if you have depression than ask your mom to help and tell her you are depressed. i know you cant really take care of something else when your the one who needs to be taken care of…so get some depression meds or something…or just let go whats bothering you…hope you get better and hope the dog gets taken care of! they are such wonderful creatures.

    No reputable breeder would ever sell a month old puppy. $200 is outrageous for any put bull but especially one that young. It is illegal in many states to sell a puppy under 8 weeks of age. Pit Bulls are very high energy and not good apartment dogs.
    Pit bulls were bred for generations to be dog aggressive. A backyard breeder who sells month old puppies is hardly likely to breed for temperament and disposition. You are at high risk for having a very dangerous dog.
    TAKE THE DOG BACK.

    Your uncles are right, they don’t need too much room. Nor does any dog, as long as they get sufficient exercise.
    Anyway, this dog is WAY too young to be weaned from her mother. Return her.
