Training Puppies For Other People?

This man i know wants to buy a puppy from a man i know. However, he asked me to train it for the first 4-6 months of its life being away from mom. Everything from Housetraining to recall to starting it on sheep/ducks. However, The breed is a heeler and they are very much one person dogs. Ive got a heeler, and my dog wont even look at someone who talks to him. He listens to me and me only. However, this puppy will have to listen to the man after he is ready to go back to the man and start on cows at his farm. How can i be sure that this pup will listen to the man? Should i instead make the man come to the farm and work the puppy with my cattle dog? Also, the man knows NOTHING about trailing, or using a dog on livestock, Let alone a biting breed like a heeler. The man wants to work my cattle dog in a play trial, and this man wont take no for an answer, ive tied letting other people work my dog and my dog just looks up at the man like WTH DO YOU WANT?! Should i let the man try with my dog? How can i get him to learn how to get a dog to do come bye, way`t me etc. Without having him work a trained dog.

    Can you teach the man how to work with his dog? Maybe the dog would live with him, and you give little tips to him on how to work with housebreaking quickly, basic commands, etc…he would then pay you to come out and start him on sheep/ducks. The man would give all the commands, but you’d be right there telling him what to do or say. You could even demonstrate.

    Have the man come over once or twice a week with the dog and have you show him how to train it. Don’t ever train a dog for someone else, unless it’s a certified service dog. The dog is to live with him once he purchases it.
    Or you show him how to work his dog on his own land. That’s a better idea yet.

    I trained dogs for other people for the better part of 30 years as an avocation.
    As a pro trainer you deserve to be paid for both your labor, and your knowledge.
    However a “puppy program” (8 weeks-6 months) is a completly different thing than training a dog for compitition. I didn’t even want to see other peoples dogs until they were 7 months old.
    Now again teaching someone to handle a dog is a different thing to training a dog.
    The person that tought me more than anyone else would stand behind me and correct me every time I moved! I’m quite sure he managed to get my blood pressure well off the scale more than once. I handled every dog on the place I think, including a NAFC that was there.
