No Diapers Please – Ten Steps to Take to Toilet Train Your Dog
1. First time your dog comes home familarize them with there environment. This could get your dog ok with his new environment.
Take them to the place you need them to use for their potty area. Permit them time to smell around and if they are excited enough they may go. Many times the baby dog must after the car ride home.
2. When calling your dog to go potty. You have to be consistent. Use a word or short phrase ie. Potty or go potty. Does not count what you are saying as long as it’s the same words every time.
3. When your dog goes potty praise him. Act excited and content. They will respond positively to this. Your dog wants to please you.
4. Remember puppies have little bladders and need to go more often. Ensure you take them outside frequently.
5. If you can ask a chum to look in on the little puppy if you are gone for the day. This would be great.
6. When nobody is home and watching them. It’s a good idea to put puppy in a room. Any accidents can be mopped simply. Such as a bathroom with tiled floor for simple cleanup.
7. Paper training or cage training are the methods used in house training your little dog.
8. If the dog gets excited when you get home. Let him out as soon as attainable. This will prevent accidents. If somebody is home ask that the dog be taken out prior to getting home.
9. Dogs are people. Some dogs take longer to train than others. Some types of dog are more simply trained than other breeds.
10. Love and patience is the most significant part of coaching. With out that you’re going to not have a cheerful housetrained dog.
