Do You Miss Your Old Dog?

I love animals, and I was extremely upset when our Golden Retriever Scott died at age 11. I think I was the only one out of us 3 kids who was impacted by his death. We rescued him when he was 3. The veterinarian said he wouldn’t make it past 8 because of the neglect, malnutrition as a puppy, and a bunch of other health problems. Our parents were too focused on work and trying to raise us. My older brother cared more about not contracting cooties in the 2nd grade, and my little brother was too young to understand about what was happening.-The sad part? I was 5. My older brother was 8, and my little brother was just 2.
From then on, I just knew I wanted to help animals.
Side Story: 3 years ago, we adopted a German Shepherd puppy we named Travis. When Scott died, my parents buried in our back yard. Everyday, Travis goes and just lies by his grave for an Hour. It’s really nice and it makes me love Travis even more. He’s actually sitting beside me right now as I type this.

Haha, not sure what it means. I just paced his paw on the keyboard of our laptop.

    I miss my goat, she was the best. My hiking companion and automatic lawn mower. She also kept strangers off the property. I don’t think I would have let Duffy get on my keyboard however, she would probably eat it! :)

    Thank you for sharing this, sweet story. I actually do miss my old dogs sometimes, but I like to live in the moment with my current pet instead. It seems you’re alright, though!

    yes i had a dachshund named rosi i had her literlly sine i was born (right after the hospital he bought her) i loved her sooooooooooo much i 10 and it was chrismas and i took her to a party and she followed me to a store i had to go to buy sprite and got lost along the way i miss her so much

    This is going to sound really retarded, but i miss my old hamster *fancy*. I got her when i was about 9 and i would play with her everyday after school and it was really cute because i had this baby doll carriage and i would put her in the carriage and walk down the street with her. I knew she loved me. She was super nice and sweet and also very cute because she was so tiny (dwarf hamster).
